Department of Botany was established in 1961 initially with a Pre-University course and gradually with a three-year degree programme of B.Sc. Botany in 1979 with Chemistry and Zoology as subsidiaries. Pre-degree was detached from the college and currently has 4 teaching faculty and 2 lab staff.
